Stop Chasing Happiness

We are not supposed to be happy all the time. Happiness is just one part of the human experience. So are sadness, disappointment, anger, discomfort, etc.

When we think the point of life is to feel happy, we create more suffering because we spend a lot of time and energy fighting and resisting other experiences.

Happiness is not something to wait for to live a meaningful life. It’s something that happens as we engage with life in a meaningful way. The best thing about it is that you decide what is meaningful to you.

Questions to ponder:

  • What brings you a sense of meaning and purpose.

  • What are some things that make you feel like time disappears?

  • When do you feel most alive and energized?
